Pro Detailer vs Car Washer?
The #1 complaint we hear is that a client used a cheap detailer because they claimed excellent results very quickly.
This is especially prevelant in the Bay Area since it is very easy for a bucket washer to advertise on the spot.
Before you schoose an individual to come to your home, please make sure that they have told you upfront who they are, and have provided their website, their Yelp page and a recent copy of their insurance.
The second idea is that a car washer will typically use products that are designed expressly for car washing systems. High gloss tire dressings that sling off down the side of your car, super slippery interior dressings that attract dust and smear when you touch a dressed panel, waxes that are known as Spray-On that won't really last more than 4-5 washes at best, etc.
We have heard that there are people going through parking lots looking for damaged cars to repair, then following them home only to rob them at gunpoint, in early 2011 two people did that and pulled the trigger.
No website, No Yelp page are clear reasons not to trust them, especially when they are scouring a parking lot instead of traditional advertising where the prospective client has the ability to review before being forced to make a decision.
